This Indenture made this 5th day of June in the / year of our Lord one thousand and seven hundred and fifty / Eight Between John Robenson Senr and Mary his Wife / John Robenson jun and Elizabeth his Wife of the / County of Lunenburgh of the one Part & James / Lewis of the County of Albemarle of the other Part
fWitnesseth that the said John Roberson the Elder / & John Robinson jun for and in Consideration of the / sum of six hundred and Forty Pounds Current Money / to them in hand Paid before the sealing & Delivery / hereof have granted Bargained Sold Enfeoffed remised / Released and Confirmed & by these Presents do grant / Bargain sell enfeoff remise Release & Confirm to the / said James Lewis his heirs and Assigns forever Two / Certain tracts or Parcel of Land Lying nd being in / the County aforesaid Containing by Estimation / four Hundred & seventy acres more or less Bounded as followeth Beginning at Thomas Eastlands lower / Corner on North side of Rowan Oak River at a / Turkey oak & Runing on his Line North four degrees / East one hundred & Twenty four poles to a pine Thence / North seventy Degrees East one hundred & Six Poles / to a red oak Then South Eighty six East Eighty Poles / to Several trees Then south sixteen degrees East one / Hundred & Twenty Poles to a White oake Then South / forty three Degrees West Eighty six poles to a Black / walnut on the River thence up the Meanders of / the River to the Place begun at. The other tract / being on the south side of the said River & Near opposite / to the former beginning at a White oak in Gillians line & / Runing South Eighteen Degrees west ninety two Poles to / a Gum then North Sixty five degrees West Eighty Eight / poles to a Gum then North seventy two degrees West / one hundred seventy two Poles to several trees Chopt / Inwards thence North five degrees East twenty eight / Poles to three Pines thence on Capt James Mitchells line / to a gum on the River. both the said Tracts as above Named / Containing four hundred and Seventy six acres Together / with all woods Timber trees Waters Water courses Mines Quarries Appertenances Whatsoever To have and / to hold the aforesaid Tract or Parcel of Land and all and
Singalur the Premises and Every part thereof with the / Appertenances to the sd James Lewis his heirs and Assigns / forever and the Said John Robinson Senr & John Robinson junr / do hereby Covenant & grant to and with the said James / Lewis heirs and Assigns [sic] in Manner & form following that / is to say the sd John Robinson Senr & John Robinson Junr / the aforesaid Land & Premises & every part thereof to the / sd James Lewis his heirs and Assigns from them the said / John Robinson Senr & John Robinson jun and all and / every other Person or Persons Whatsoever shalt warrant / & forever Defend by these Presents & the said James Lewis / at all times forever Hereafter may Peacably & quietly have / hold occupy Possess & enjoy the aforesd Land & Premises / without any lawful Lett suit Trouble or Denial of the / said John Robinson Senr & John Robinson jun their heirs / or assigns or any other Person or Persons Whatsoever / In Witness whereof the said John Robinson Senr & Mary / his wife John Robinson junr & Elizabeth his Wife have hereunto Interchangeably sett their hands & seals the day and year / First above written.
Recd the 5th day of June 1758 of the within Named James / Lewis six hundred & Forty Pounds Currt Money it being / in full for the Purchase Containd in this and for the Within mentioned Tract of Land
At a Court held for Lunenburgh County the 6th day of / June 1758 / This Indenture was by the Within Named John Robinson / senior & Mary his Wife & John Robinson Junior & Elizabeth his Wife jointly Acknowledged to be their act & Deed
and the said Mary & Elizabeth (they being first Privily / Examined) severally Relinquished their Right / of Dower in and to the Land & Premises Conveyed / by the said Indenture and the said John Robinson / senr and John Robinson Junr also acknowledged the / above Receipt all which were ordered to be Recorded
