This Indenture made the twenty second Day of January in / the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and fifty four / Between John Roberson of the County of Lunenburgh and Mary his / wife of the one part and Mark Harwell of the County of Dinwiddie / of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Roberson and Mary his / wife for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds / current Money of Virginia to them in Hand paid the Receipt whereof / they do hereby acknowledge Have granted bargained and sold / aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed and do by these presents / Grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff release and confirm unto the / said Mark Harwell and to his Heirs and assigns forever one certain / Tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in Brunswick County / containing three hundred and fifty acres (one hundred acres part / thereof being part of a Tract of three hundred acres Granted to William / Gower by patent bearing Date the eighteenth Day of February one / thousand seven hundred and twenty two and one hundred and / thirty five acres (part of the aforesaid three hundred and fifty acres) / was granted to Thomas Huckibee by patent Dated the seventh Day /
of July one thousand seven hundred and twenty six and the / Residue of the said Quantity is part of a Tract of three hundred / and sixteen acres Granted to the said Thomas Huckibee by / patent Dated the twenty eighth Day of September one thousand / seven hundred and twenty eight) and is bounded as followeth / ,viz, Beginning at a white Oak on William Gower's Branch so / down the said Branch to a Chestnut Oak thence to William Gower's / Line to a Corner Hickory thence to a small Branch on Kittle Stick / thence up the said Branch to a Corner red Oak thence to a Corner / of William Smith's thence to a Corner Hickory thence to the first Station / and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders / Rents Issues and Profits thereof and all the Estate Right Title / Interest use Trust possession property Claim and Demand / whatsoever of them the said John Roberson and Mary his wife / their Heirs or Assigns or any other person whatsoever of in or to / the same or any part thereof To have and to hold the said Tract or / Parcel of Land and every part thereof with all and singular the / premises above mentioned with the appurtenances unto the said / Mark Harwell his Heirs and Assigns forever to the only proper /use and behoof of him the said Mark Harwell his Heirs and / assigns for ever and the said John Roberson and Mary his Wife / for them selves their Heirs and Assigns the said Tract or parcel of / Land with all and singular the premises with their and every of / their appurtenances unto him the said Mark Harwell his Heirs / and assigns against them and their Heirs shall and will Warrant / and for ever Defend by these presents In witness whereof the said / John Roberson and Mary his wife have hereunto set their Hands / and affixed their Seals the Day and Year first before Written.

This Indenture was acknowledged by John Roberson and Mary his / wife parties thereto and ordered to be recorded and the said Mary / having been first privately examined as the Law directs freely and / voluntarily relinquished her Right of Dower in the Lands within / mentioned /
